Foosball handles

You hold them, grip them, caress them, twist or turn; yes, they are the foosball table handles. They are the part of the tables that can easily ruin your game. If you can’t comfortably hold them, you can’t properly shoot. If they are uncomfortable to hold for a long time, you will neither be able to play as long as you want.

Foosball is a game of accuracy, finesse, and wrist strength; and all three of them can be off the mark if your foosball table handles are not comfortable to you. Many foosball table manufacturers offer them as replacement parts. If you need to just replace a broken one, they could be good enough for you. But if you want to improve your table and your play, some other handles might be a better option.

Foosball handles review

Out in the wild, there are many different or the same foosball handles available. Here, I have collected some of the best among them, and short reviews of each of them, which should help you decide which are the perfect ones for you.

Hathaway Premium

5stars
Hathaway premium

Hathaway Premium Replacement Handles are standard octagonal shaped foosball handles that fit on the standard ⅝ inch rods. They are made of high-quality ABS plastic, which promises longevity. They are very comfortable and very pleasant to hold and play with. What I don’t like about them is that they are made of plastic. This will lead to very sweaty palms during longer play sessions, thus putting wraps on them is highly recommended. Personally, I don’t like the way they mount on rods. Either by just sliding them and relying on friction or by gluing them. But this is a matter of personal preference.

Pros

  • Classic design
  • Sturdy

Cons

  • Mounting method
  • Sweaty palms during long plays

    Brybelly Octagonal Handles

    5stars
    Byrbelly octagonal

Brybelly handles are very similar to Hathaway’s product. They too feature the standard octagonal design made of sturdy ABS plastic and fit on standard ⅝ inch rods. But, they have a slightly more textured feel to them. This provides a bit more friction and a more stable feel in your palms. Same as the previous model, these too feature smooth edges. Similarities don’t stop there, as with all plastic handles they will cause your palms to sweat after some time, but compared to Hathaway’s it will take a longer time. If you usually don’t play for more than an hour or so at a time, you won’t need to put wraps on these. Unfortunately, they mount on rods the same way as Hathaway’s. If you don’t plan to remove them in a foreseeable future, gluing them is a good option. But it’s one I have never learned to like.

    Pros

    • Classic design
    • Sturdy

    Cons

    • Mounting method

      NONBRAND Wooden Foosball Handle Grips

      5stars
      NONBRAND grips

If you don’t like the black handles, you may find these to your fancy. NONBRAND’s handles are made of hardwood and lacquered to a high sheen. Though they are octagonal, corners are much softer. In my opinion, its shape is absolutely perfect. For me at least. They are almost a quarter-inch wider than the previous two models, which could make them a bit uncomfortable for someone with very small hands. On the rods, they mount with a screw and have pre-drilled sunken holes for them so you don’t need to worry whether it is an annoyance.

      Pros

      • Classic design
      • Sturdy
      • Very comfortable

      Cons

      • Not the best for people with small hands

        Tornado Foosball Handles

        5stars
        Tornado

Tornado is one of the biggest names in the world of foosball, primarily due to the quality of its products. These handles are a testament to that fact. They are made of untreated dried wood and are very precisely machined. With a classic octagonal design, they fit on the ⅝ inch rods. Some might find them a bit less than perfect due to relatively sharp corners. But few swipes with sandpaper can fix this. You can be certain that these will not make your palms sweaty. But if you wish so, you can install wraps on them.

        Pros

        • Classic design
        • Sturdy
        • Very comfortable

        Cons

        • Slightly sharper edges

          River 8Pcs Plastic Grip

          5stars
          River 8pcs

If you are looking for replacement handles for a tabletop foosball table these are a perfect fit. Featuring the ribbed design and slightly smaller dimensions than professional handles, these are a perfect fit for the younger crowd. If you are a seasoned foosball player, these may give you a strange feeling but are actually very comfortable. If you are used to octagonal handles, these are not recommended. Additionally, because they are round, they don’t offer the advantages of classic design. After all, these are intended for kids.

          Pros

          • Sturdy
          • Very comfortable

          Cons

          • Not intended for professional tables

            Billiard Evolution

            5stars
            Billiard evolution

Billiard evolution is better known for its range of aftermarket billiard parts, and these foosball handles feature their signature quality. While other handles on this list are made of rigid materials, these ones are made of very hard rubber. The material and ribbed design provide unprecedented grip quality. Unless you absolutely demand the octagonal shape, you will love these. They do have a slight give on tough, which is equivalent to hard handles with wraps. This is not a bad thing, just a fact that out of the box they give you the aftermarket feel of personalized handles.

            Pros

                • Sturdy
                • Extremely comfortable

            Cons

                • Some people might not like the material

            Warrior Foosball Wraps

            5stars
            Warrior wraps

While these wraps are not handles, they are aftermarket equipment intended for improving your existing ones. Just like in other sports that feature gripping equipment, there are specialized wraps for improving gripping and handling of equipment. When it comes to foosball handle wraps, Warrior’s are second to none. They are perfectly designed for improving the grip and whisking moisture from your palms before they become sweaty. Technically, you can use wraps for tennis racquets instead of these, but specialized wraps are more convenient particularly due to being of exactly fitting length.

            Pros

                • A very convenient way to improve your handles
                • Extremely comfortable

            Cons

                • Not appropriate if you need a replacement handle

            Conclusion

Foosball table handles are part of the table you will be touching the most during your play. If they are not comfortable and don’t provide sufficient grip, they could spoil your game. So, upgrading your handles is a good thing to do. Besides changing all of your handles, available are specialized wrap tapes that are very easy to install and can offer unmatched performance. If you still can’t decide which are the best handles for you, my suggestion is Tornado Foosball Wood Handles. They offer a quality that is simply unmatched. But if you would prefer wraps, Warrior’s offer is a very affordable product that offers the quality of tournament level equipment.
